CTW Inc. has announced a new browser game based on Yashichiro Takahashi's Shakugan no Shana light novel series. Titled Shakugan no Shana Blaze Edge, or Shana Blaze for short, the game will be free-to-play with options for in-app purchases. Pre-registration for the title is now available.
The game will feature prominent characters from the franchise, including Shana and Yuji Sakai. The original light novel series, illustrated by Noizi Itō, began in 2002 and concluded its main run in 2011, with subsequent short story collections and a new volume, Shakugan no Shana SIV, released in late 2023.
The Shakugan no Shana franchise has previously spawned three anime television series. The first anime premiered in 2005, followed by Shakugan no Shana Second in 2007, and the final anime season, Shakugan no Shana III (Final), which aired in 2011 and adapted the novel series' conclusion.
