A manga adaptation of the mystery adventure game Return to Shironagasu Island is set to debut on May 9 in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. Muratan has been confirmed as the new artist for the series, which will feature a color opening page for its first chapter.
This marks a relaunch for the manga project. It was initially announced in December 2023 for Kadokawa's Monthly Young Ace with artist Kuroitsu Suruga. However, that iteration was canceled in April 2024 due to editorial scheduling issues.
The Return to Shironagasu Island game, developed by Tabinomichi, originally launched on Steam in March 2020 with English text support. It later received a Nintendo Switch release in November 2022, also with English localization. The game follows detective Sen Ikeda and a girl named Neneko Izumozaki as they travel to Shironagasu Island to solve murders and uncover its secrets.
A two-volume novelization of the game, credited to Hyogo Onimushi for the story and Shiroi for illustrations, was released in September 2023.
