The series promises a blend of adventure, mecha, and science fiction, continuing the legacy of the original "Cyborg 009" franchise. While specific animation studio details and creative team members have yet to be revealed, the announcement signals a significant return for the classic characters.
"Cyborg 009" first debuted in manga form in 1964, following Joe Shimamura and eight other cyborgs who are abducted and augmented by the villainous Black Ghost organization, only to rebel and fight against their creators. "Nemesis" is expected to explore new narrative territory within this established sci-fi framework.
