A new OVA titled "Aim for the Ace!: Another Match" has been revealed, delving into the formative years of Hiromi Oka, the determined protagonist of the iconic "Ace wo Nerae!" franchise. This latest entry serves as a prequel, exploring Hiromi's journey as she is taken under the wing of the formidable coach Jin Munakata following a national championship win.
Set three years after the original series' events, "Another Match" sees Hiromi selected to represent Japan internationally in New York. However, her path is complicated by Coach Munakata's sudden hospitalization, forcing her to navigate new challenges and personal tragedies without his guidance. The OVA, animated by Tokyo Movie Shinsha, promises to expand on the dramatic sports narrative that defined the original manga and its previous anime adaptations, including the sequel "Aim for the Ace!: Final Stage."
