The second promotional video for the upcoming Draw This, Then Die! anime has been released, offering a preview of the ending theme song "Conifer" performed by Regal Lily. The band composed the track specifically for the series.
The anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda's manga is set to debut on July 3, airing on NTV within the "Friday Anime Night" block at 11:30 p.m. JST. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga, describing its story about high schooler Ai Yasumi, an aspiring manga artist who seeks out her idol creator on Izu Ōshima.
The cast includes Akira Sekine as Ai Yasumi, Saori Hayami as Rei Teshima, Saya Hitomi as Kokoro Fujimori, Kanon Fujimura as Sachi Akafuku, and Inori Minase as Hikaru Sekiryū. Noriko Hidaka voices Pokota, an imaginary friend from Ai's favorite manga, while Atsumi Tanezaki plays Nana Teramura, a manga rental shop manager. Yukana portrays Hana Kongōji, an editor at Shogakukan.
Directed by Hiroaki Akagi (The Dangers in My Heart) at Shinei Animation, the series features scripts overseen and written by Hiroko Fukuda. Takekazu Segawa is handling character designs. The opening theme, "Isho," is performed by Tatsuya Kitani. The manga itself has received significant acclaim, winning an award at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards and the 16th Manga Taisho awards.
