The first promotional video for the Draw This, Then Die! anime adaptation has been released, officially announcing a July 3 premiere date. The video also offers a preview of the series' opening theme song, titled "Isho," performed by Tatsuya Kitani.

The series will debut on NTV as part of its "Friday Anime Night" programming block, airing at 11:30 p.m. JST. The anime stars Akira Sekine as protagonist Ai Yasumi, a high schooler obsessed with manga on Izu Ōshima island, and Saori Hayami as Rei Teshima. Other cast members include Saya Hitomi as Kokoro Fujimori, Kanon Fujimura as Sachi Akafuku, Inori Minase as Hikaru Sekiryū, Noriko Hidaka as Ai's imaginary friend Pokota, Atsumi Tanezaki as manga shop manager Nana Teramura, Yukana as editor Hana Kongōji, and Kikuko Inoue as successful manga creator Hebichika-sensei.

Directed by Hiroaki Akagi (The Dangers in My Heart) at Shinei Animation, the series boasts a script team including Hiroko Fukuda, Aki Itami, and Kanichi Katō. Fukuda is also overseeing the series scripts. Character designs are handled by Takekazu Segawa, with music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi.

Minoru Toyoda's manga, licensed in English by Seven Seven Seas Entertainment, follows Ai's journey to meet her idol manga creator, an encounter that challenges her views on art and creation. The manga has received critical acclaim, winning both a Shogakukan Manga Award in January 2025 and the 16th Manga Taisho awards in 2023. It also ranked sixth in Kono Manga ga Sugoi!'s 2023 guide for male readers.
