Square Enix has announced that its new mobile title, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, will launch worldwide for iOS and Android devices on April 21, following a reveal in a new opening trailer. The animated opening video was produced by Kamikaze Douga.
Dragon Quest Smash/Grow is described as a roguelite RPG that incorporates "smashing" combat mechanics, where players build up special move gauges, and a "growing" element that utilizes growth crystals for blessings.
This mobile release appears to be distinct from recent console and PC remakes of classic Dragon Quest titles. These include Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, which launched in February, and the "HD-2D" remakes of Dragon Quest I & II and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, released in late 2024.
