Toei Animation has officially set an October 11 premiere for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, a project described as an 'enhanced' reconstruction of the iconic series. The announcement arrived alongside a new 'Super Surge' trailer, which offers a glimpse at the updated animation and confirms the show's musical lineup: MEGATERA･ZERO will perform the opening theme 'ONOGAMI,' while VK Blanka provides the ending theme 'Kan Peki No Peki.'
This new iteration aims to provide a more accurate reflection of Akira Toriyama’s original vision through a comprehensive overhaul. According to the production team, the series features extensive new cuts, redrawn sequences, and a complete re-rendering of existing footage. The project also includes newly recorded voice work and updated sound design, intended to heighten the intensity of the series' signature cosmic battles.
Fans attending New York Comic Con will have the opportunity to see the first episode early during a special panel on October 8. Following its broadcast debut on Fuji TV, the series will serve as a reimagined entry point for the God of Destruction arc, which originally captivated audiences during the initial 2015–2018 run of Dragon Ball Super.
While the original 131-episode run remains a staple of the franchise, this 'enhanced' edition signals a significant technical investment in the series' legacy.
