Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the newly reconstructed "enhanced" edition of the long-running franchise, arrives on Hulu in the United States on October 11. This release coincides with the series' broadcast debut in Japan, where it takes over the timeslot previously held by One Piece on Fuji TV.
Global availability for the series is widespread, with Crunchyroll offering simultaneous streaming in multiple regions, including Canada, Europe, and Latin America. Netflix is also set to join the distribution effort, with a U.S. release scheduled for October 17 and a rollout in select international territories beginning October 14.
This project serves as a comprehensive overhaul of the original Dragon Ball Super narrative. According to producer Akio Iyoku, the production team spent several years re-rendering footage, incorporating new and redrawn animation cuts, and updating the sound design and musical score to better align with Akira Toriyama’s original vision. The series features a returning cast, including Kōichi Yamadera, who reprises his iconic role as the God of Destruction, Beerus.
While the original 2015 series spanned 131 episodes, this "enhanced" iteration aims to provide a more immersive experience for both long-time fans and newcomers. With the series now appearing across multiple major streaming platforms, it remains to be seen how the reconstructed pacing and updated visuals will be received compared to the original broadcast run.
