The dark fantasy anime Dorohedoro is set to continue with a third season, announced by the production staff on Wednesday. Director Yuichiro Hayashi celebrated the news by sharing a special illustration depicting Haru singing, hinting at the sequel's content.
The announcement comes immediately after the final episode of the second season aired. The second season, which debuted on April 1, 2026, is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with the latter also hosting the first season. Season 1, originally released in 2020 by MAPPA, is available with multiple dubs and subtitles worldwide.
Dorohedoro, adapted from Q Hayashida's manga, plunges viewers into the grim city of Hole, where magic users conduct horrific experiments. The story follows Caiman, a man with a reptile head and amnesia, as he hunts down the sorcerers responsible for his condition, leading to escalating conflict.
The series boasts a strong following, holding an 8.04 rating on MyAnimeList from over 316,000 voters, underscoring the high expectations for the upcoming third season. The production has seen key staff return, including director Yuichiro Hayashi and composer (K)NoW_NAME, known for their work on the previous seasons.
