Disney+ has unveiled the first teaser poster for its upcoming live-action adaptation of The Remarried Empress, highlighting Min-a Shin in the lead role. The visual captures the series' pivotal moment, featuring Shin as Empress Navier in a striking red gown, accompanied by the iconic line: "I accept this divorce. And I request an approval of my remarriage."
The series brings the popular webtoon to life, following the story of Navier, the Eastern Empire's ideal empress. After discovering that her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, intends to replace her with his mistress, she makes the bold decision to divorce and seek a new throne elsewhere. The narrative has gained massive traction, amassing over 2.6 billion views globally and receiving translations in 10 languages.
While the source webtoon concluded its seven-year serialization this past January, the franchise remains active with a series of side stories arriving this fall. Fans of the source material can currently read the English version on the WEBTOON platform or pick up the print editions published by Ize Press. The live-action series is slated for a fall premiere on both Disney+ and Hulu, with further casting and production details expected in the coming weeks.
