Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled a significant content expansion for Digimon Story Time Stranger during the latest State of Play livestream. Titled "A Hero's Eternal Legacy," the DLC is scheduled for a 2027 release and promises to bridge the narrative gap by jumping three years forward from the events of the original title. Players can look forward to stepping into the shoes of a new protagonist while expanding their rosters with over 50 additional Digimon.
This announcement follows a steady stream of post-launch support for the game, which originally debuted on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in October 2025, followed by a Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 release this past July. The game has already seen three major content drops, including the "Alternate Dimension," "GAKU-RAN," and "Anti-ParadoX" packs, all of which were integrated into the title's season pass structure.
Beyond the console space, the franchise has been active on mobile platforms with the July release of Digimon UP, a title designed to integrate into daily routines. While the base game continues to receive updates, the shift toward a new narrative arc in the upcoming DLC suggests a substantial expansion of the game's world-building. With the new hero taking center stage, it remains to be seen how the original cast will factor into this three-year time jump.
