The upcoming television anime adaptation of Kyousuke Motomiβs Dengeki Daisy made a significant splash at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026, where the production team debuted the first promotional video and a new key visual. The announcement confirmed that the series is slated for a two-cour run, set to begin broadcasting in January 2027.
Alongside the trailer, the production revealed several key staff members joining director Souta Ueno. The creative team includes series composer Sawako Hirabayashi, character designer Ayaka Murakami, and composer Masaru Yokoyama. The voice cast is expanding as well, with Tomokazu Sugita joining as Souichirou Kurebayashi, Yuka Terasaki as Riko Onizuka, Setsuji Satou as Masuda, and Kouhei Amasaki as Akira.
This adaptation brings the long-running shoujo romance back into the spotlight, following the original manga's conclusion in 2013. While the series is a foundational title for many, it remains to be seen how the adaptation will balance the source material's blend of comedy and mystery across its extended 26-week broadcast window. With a veteran sound director like Jin Aketagawa attached, the production appears to be prioritizing a faithful atmospheric tone for the series' long-awaited return.
