The long-awaited television anime adaptation of Dengeki Daisy is officially slated for a January 2027 debut. During a stage presentation at KyoMAF, the production team confirmed that the series will run for two consecutive cours, ensuring an extended presence on the airwaves for the beloved shōjo title. A new promotional video accompanied the announcement, offering a fresh look at the series alongside a newly unveiled key visual.
Alongside the scheduling news, the production revealed four additional cast members joining the project: Tomokazu Sugita will voice Sōichirō Kurebayashi, Yuka Terasaki joins as Riko Onizuka, Setsuji Satō plays Masuda, and Kōhei Amasaki takes on the role of Akira. They join previously announced leads Yoshino Aoyama, who stars as Teru Kurebayashi, and Taku Yashiro, who voices Tasuku Kurosaki.
Behind the scenes, the production at Studio DEEN continues to take shape with the addition of several key staff members, including sound director Jin Aketagawa and art directors Rieko Itai and Chun Ri Rong. The series is under the direction of Sōta Ueno, with series scripts penned by Sawako Hirabayashi and character designs by Ayaka Murakami. Music duties are handled by Masaru Yokoyama.
While the original manga concluded its run in 2013, the announcement of a two-cour commitment suggests a significant effort to adapt the full scope of Motomi's story. With Crunchyroll already confirmed to stream the series, viewers can expect a faithful translation of the mystery surrounding the enigmatic DAISY. Given the source material's cult status, the choice of a half-year run is a notable vote of confidence in the narrative's pacing.
