Shinichirō Miki has joined the cast of the Daemons of the Shadow Realm anime, taking on the role of Ivan Yosano. Miki's character, a mysterious daemon user, made his debut in the series' sixth episode, which aired Saturday.
The anime adapts Hiromu Arakawa's manga of the same name. The story follows Yuru, a young man living in a remote mountain village with his twin sister Asa, who is kept confined and performs a mysterious duty. Their seemingly peaceful life is shattered when armed assailants attack the village.
Directed by Masahiro Andō at Studio Bones Film, the series boasts a notable staff including Noboru Takagi for series scripts and Nobuhiro Arai for character design and chief animation direction. The music is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro. Vaundy performs the opening theme "Tobu Toki," while yama sings the ending theme "Tobō yo."
Daemons of the Shadow Realm premiered on April 4 and is broadcasting across multiple Japanese channels, including Tokyo MX and BS11. The series is scheduled for two consecutive cours, totaling 24 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, offering same-day English dubs.
