The television anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Daemons of the Shadow Realm manga has revealed two new additions to its voice cast. Saturday saw the announcement that Kappei Yamaguchi will voice Hikaru Kagemori, and Yoshiko Sakakibara has been cast as Kai.
These new cast members join an already established lineup for the series, which includes Kenshō Ono as Yuru and Yume Miyamoto as Asa. The anime, produced by Studio Bones Film, premiered in April and is scheduled to run for two consecutive cours. It airs in Japan on channels including Tokyo MX and BS11, with Crunchyroll streaming the series and offering a same-day English dub.
The series adapts Arakawa's manga, which follows Yuru and his twin sister Asa, whose idyllic life in a remote mountain village is shattered by a mysterious 'duty' and an external attack. The manga, launched in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan in December 2021, has achieved a notable 8.06 score on MyAnimeList, reflecting significant fan engagement with the story.
