A second teaser trailer has arrived for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, offering fans a glimpse at the new characters set to populate the upcoming anime. The trailer showcases four new protagonists: Weak Kingsley, Talia Yang, Roman Carax, and D, presented in a clockwise visual.
This new season will be helmed by Kai Ikarashi in his directorial debut, following his work as a storyboard artist and animation director on the first series. Bartosz Sztybor, producer and writer for the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, is returning, alongside lead character designer Ichigo Kanno and scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka. As one of the top-rated anime on MyAnimeList with an 8.62 score from over 700,000 voters, the return of the Studio Trigger-produced series carries significant expectations.
The series is described as a new, standalone 10-episode story that serves as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge within the world of Cyberpunk 2077. The original anime, based on CD PROJEKT RED's game, premiered on Netflix in September 2022. Home video releases in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand are planned for October 28.
This follows the launch of a prequel manga, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, which began serialization in December 2024 and is receiving a multi-language release, including an English print version from Dark Horse.
