The upcoming second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will feature theme songs from rock band The Cure and artist Watson, as revealed during an Anime Expo panel. The Cure will perform the opening theme, while Watson is set to deliver the ending theme.
The anime, a new standalone 10-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, is slated for a fall premiere on Netflix. The panel also provided a glimpse of the English dub with a premiere screening of the first episode. The Japanese voice cast includes Momoka Terasawa as Roman Carax, Akari Kitō as Talia Yang, Kōki Uchiyama as D, and Kentarō Tone as Weak Kingsley. Rapper RICO NASTY has also contributed the song 'YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME', featured in a previously released teaser.
Kai Ikarashi takes the directorial reins for this new installment, marking his directorial debut after serving in various roles on the first series, including storyboard artist and animation director. Bartosz Sztybor, producer and writer for the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, returns, alongside lead character designer Ichigo Kanno and scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka. The original series, produced by Studio Trigger, premiered on Netflix in September 2022, based on CD PROJEKT RED's game.
Physical media releases are also planned, with Aniplex of America releasing a complete Blu-ray set in North America on October 28. Further home video releases are scheduled for Europe by Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures, and for Australia and New Zealand by Sugoi Co. A prequel manga, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, launched in December 2024 and is receiving a multi-language release, including an English print version from Dark Horse.
