Media company CyberAgent announced it will launch Canvas Kyoto, a new creative hub, in June. The initiative aims to cultivate emerging talent and expand the workforce for anime and game production, particularly within Japan's Kansai region. CyberAgent intends for Canvas Kyoto to help establish a long-term, sustainable production ecosystem.

The hub will feature a paid training program designed to equip aspiring creators with practical skills essential for anime and game production. Participants will gain experience through real production projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and have potential career pathways within CyberAgent.

This move follows Cygames Pictures, a former subsidiary of CyberAgent's Cygames, becoming a consolidated subsidiary of CyberAgent in February. Renamed Cypic in April, the studio has been involved in anime adaptations of games like Uma Musume Pretty Derby and Granblue Fantasy.

CyberAgent has also been actively involved in AI development for creative industries. The company established an AI Lab in 2016 and has since launched AI-focused business units for game and animation production, alongside internal guidelines for generative AI use in creative work.
