Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set to debut on October 11, with Crunchyroll confirming a simultaneous streaming release for North America, Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia and Latin America. The series will launch following its broadcast on Fuji TV in Japan, where it takes over the time slot previously held by One Piece.
This project is described as an "enhanced" edition of the original Dragon Ball Super narrative. According to production staff, the series is not a simple remaster but a full reconstruction of the story. It incorporates extensive new animation cuts, redrawn scenes, and a complete re-rendering of the footage. The audio has also been overhauled, featuring newly recorded voice work, updated sound effects, and a fresh musical score by Norihito Sumitomo.
Key staff members include Tadayoshi Yamamuro as the general animation director and character designer, with Matsuto Seya handling composition and direction. Fans attending New York Comic Con will get an early look at the premiere episode during a special panel on October 8, ahead of the wider digital rollout. While Crunchyroll handles the initial global launch, Netflix is scheduled to begin streaming the series on October 14 in select international territories, followed by a U.S. release on October 17.
This project revisits the arrival of the God of Destruction, a pivotal moment in the franchise's history. Given the extensive visual and audio overhaul, it remains to be seen how these changes will impact the pacing of the original Beerus arc compared to the 2015 version.
