Viewers can now access the complete Kamisama Kiss experience on Crunchyroll with the addition of the series' original anime DVD (OAD) specials. These episodes, which were previously limited to physical releases bundled with the manga's 22nd through 25th volumes and the 25.5 fanbook, provide essential epilogue content for fans of the supernatural romance.
Written by Julietta Suzuki, the series centers on Nanami, a high schooler who unexpectedly becomes a Shinto deity after a chance encounter leaves her in charge of a shrine. Her adjustment to this divine role is complicated by her relationship with Tomoe, the fox yลkai bound to her service through a supernatural kiss. While the two main television seasons have long been available to Western audiences via Funimation and later Crunchyroll, the OADs remained a missing piece of the digital library until now.
The original manga concluded its run in 2016 after eight years in Hana to Yume, eventually spanning 25 volumes that were localized by Viz Media. Suzuki has since moved on to other projects, most notably the 2022 series Otaku Vampire's Love Bite. By bringing these specials to their platform, Crunchyroll completes the digital adaptation of the franchise, offering a comprehensive look at the conclusion of Nanami and Tomoe's journey.
