Shingo Yamashita's Cosmic Princess Kaguya! (Chō Kaguya-hime!) anime film is set to conclude its theatrical run in Japan on June 18. The film, which debuted on February 20, saw its limited engagement extended due to overwhelming audience interest, with some theaters increasing screenings significantly.

During its 13th weekend in theaters, the film garnered ¥27,652,100 (about US$173,800). As of May 17, its cumulative box office total reached ¥2,526,627,600 (approximately US$15.88 million). The film began streaming internationally on Netflix on January 22.

The story follows Iroha Sakayori, a high school student who finds and raises a rapidly growing infant named Kaguya. The two bond as Iroha produces and writes music for Kaguya's streaming career in the virtual realm Tsukuyomi, unaware of a looming threat from the moon.

Directed by Yamashita in his feature debut, the film was produced by Studio Chromato and Studio Colorido. The voice cast includes Yūko Natsuyoshi as Kaguya, Anna Nagase as Iroha, and Saori Hayami as streamer Yachiyo. Hayami also performs the theme song "Ex-Otogibanashi." The soundtrack features contributions from notable Vocaloid producers such as Ryo (supercell), kz (Livetune), and HoneyWorks.
