Manga artist Keiko Okamoto died on May 6 due to a cerebral hemorrhage, as announced by her relatives on her official X/Twitter account and confirmed by Comic Maomao. Okamoto was known for her work on the Corrector Yui manga, with her contributions being released in English by Tokyopop. The Corrector Yui anime adaptation originally premiered in April 1999.
More recently, Okamoto had launched a new manga titled Ochikobore Hoketsu Reijо̄ wa Tsumetai Kо̄shaku kara Nigedashitai (The Dropout Substitute Daughter Wants to Run Away From the Cold Duke) in the Comic Maomao digital publication in March. The announcement did not specify Okamoto's age at the time of her passing.
