Idea Factory International has confirmed that Villion:Code, the latest RPG from developer Compile Heart, will arrive in Western markets in 2027. The title will launch across a wide range of hardware, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Physical copies are planned for North American and European markets, with specific console availability varying by region.

Set in a near-future academy city, the narrative follows students trapped within an isolated "bubble" after a mysterious anomaly spawns hostile entities known as GEM. The project boasts a notable creative team, featuring planning producer Kōji Okada, a co-founder of Atlus and co-creator of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. The scenario is penned by Tadashi Satomi, known for his work on early Persona titles and The Caligula Effect, while the soundtrack is composed by Tsukasa Masuko. Character designs are provided by artist Ilya Kuvshinov.

The game, which features the opening theme "Rebirth Code" by FRAM, initially debuted in Japan on June 25. While the Western release window is set for 2027, the inclusion of the Nintendo Switch 2 in the platform list highlights the developer's commitment to supporting next-generation hardware alongside current consoles. Given the pedigree of the development staff, which of these veteran creators' previous works do you think will be most reflected in this new school-based RPG?
