Aniplex has released a new trailer focusing on the "A(E)liens" segment of the upcoming omnibus film Grotesqqque. Directed by Atsushi Nishigori, known for his work on THE IDOLM@STER and DARLING in the FRANXX, the film takes a unique approach to storytelling by splitting its runtime into three distinct segments, each featuring its own cast and musical contributors.

Alongside the trailer, the studio confirmed that "A(E)liens" will feature performances by Kana Ichinose as Ellie, Gen Hoshino as Kento Kurikura, and Akio Ōtsuka as the Space Agency Bureau Director. The project, which recently held its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, is set to open in Japanese theaters on November 6.

The broader film is an ambitious production from JOEN, the collaborative studio entity formed by Aniplex, CloverWorks, Wit Studio, and Shueisha. The anthology is structured into three narratives: "A(E)liens," the pun-heavy "Yoroshiku★Girl," and "Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque." With a massive roster of 35 musical artists spread across the three stories, the film also features an opening theme, "Shoot Shoot Shoot," performed by the band METALVERSE.
