Following a successful theatrical run in both Japan and the United States, Aniplex of America revealed at their San Diego Comic-Con panel that Clockwork Girl will arrive on digital storefronts this September. The project, which serves as the inaugural entry in the Virgin Punk series, previously debuted in Japanese theaters in June 2025 before receiving a limited U.S. engagement later that year.

Directed by industry veteran Yasuomi Umetsu—known for his distinct visual style in Kite and Mezzo—the film is a high-octane collaboration with studio SHAFT. The narrative introduces viewers to a bleak 2099, where the medical technology "Somadea" has been weaponized by criminals, necessitating a government-sanctioned bounty hunter system. The story follows Ubu Kamigori, a hunter whose life is upended by the sudden reappearance of a mysterious figure from her past, Mr. Elegance.

The production features a robust cast, with Saki Miyashita providing the voice for Ubu and Katsuyuki Konishi portraying the enigmatic Mr. Elegance. The script is helmed by Yūya Takahashi, ensuring the project maintains the sharp, suspenseful tone characteristic of Umetsu's filmography. Fans who missed the theatrical screenings will finally have the opportunity to own the title digitally, complete with the English dub showcased during the recent convention announcement.
