The production team for the anime adaptation of The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life has grown significantly, with a second teaser trailer offering a fresh look at the series. Directed by Shuu Honma at the acclaimed studio P.A. Works, the project is set to hit television screens in October 2026.
Joining the core production team is a wealth of industry talent, including composer Alisa Okehazama, known for her work on Jujutsu Kaisen, and sound director Ryousuke Naya. The technical visual team has been bolstered by the addition of Noboru Sugimitsu as monster designer and action animation director, alongside art director Youko Kamiyama, whose credits include Fruits Basket. The staff list also features veteran contributors from series like Angel Beats! and White Album 2, signaling a high level of production polish for the fantasy adventure.
Adapted from the light novel series by Asa Rokushima, the story follows a protagonist capable of bestowing "Enhancement Points" upon any object, a power that makes him indispensable until his sudden layoff. With the manga serialization having moved to the Getsumaga Kichi portal following the closure of Shounen Magazine R, the franchise has maintained a steady presence for readers since its 2021 debut. Kodansha continues to oversee the publication of the source material, with the 21st manga volume released earlier this August.
