The production team for the Charisma television anime has expanded, confirming a new key visual and a roster of industry veterans joining the project. Haru Watanabe has been tapped for character design and will serve as a chief animation director alongside HANSEUNGAH. Other key appointments include art director Seiki Tamura, color key artist Yukiko Kakita, and music composition by Gesshoku Kaigi.
This adaptation of the Evil Line Records and Dazed project, which explores the lives of seven characters living in a share house, is currently in development at Pierrot Films under the direction of Jōji Furuta. The series is slated to debut on TBS in January 2027, with original creator Shū Matsubara overseeing the scripts. The project’s unique premise centers on characters who embody specific, divinely gifted traits, a concept that has already expanded into musical releases and multiple manga series.
While this marks the first television anime for the franchise, the property has maintained a consistent presence since its 2021 launch. Fans of the source material may recognize the characters from the four-panel manga adaptations, such as Charisma: Kyō mo Heiwa Desu, which concluded its run in late 2024. With the core staff now largely in place, the focus shifts to how the studio will translate the project's distinct character dynamics into an episodic format.
