Rina Honnizumi has been cast as Imoko, the younger sister of the titular chainsmoking catgirl, in the upcoming television anime adaptation of Chainsmoker Cat (Yanineko). Imoko is described as a model high school student. The news was announced by the anime's official website.

The comedy series follows Yani, a catgirl struggling with a severe smoking habit and a messy lifestyle. Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the manga in English, describing it as a story about co-existence between humans, catgirls, and similar species, and Yani's ongoing battle to quit smoking.

Directed by Taku Kimura at Bibury Animation Studio, the anime also features Yūko Natsuyoshi as Yani Neko, Misato Matsuoka as Yaku Neko, and Yurie Funato as Hame Neko, among others. Takashi Aoshima is handling scripts, Riki Matsuura is designing characters, and Keiichi Suzuki is composing the music.

Chainsmoker Cat is set to premiere on July 2 at 12:30 a.m. on Tokyo MX and BS11, with a later broadcast on AT-X starting July 25. The opening theme, "Nanmonee," will be performed by Wasureranneyo, and the ending theme, "Kemuri to Blue," by Necry Talkie.
