The mystery-solving sensation Butt Detective (Oshiri Tantei) is returning to the airwaves with a fresh batch of content. Production staff confirmed that seven new weekly episodes are scheduled to debut on NHK Educational starting October 3, continuing the series' long-standing presence on the network.
This update follows the most recent installment of new episodes, which premiered in April. The franchise has maintained a consistent broadcast rhythm since its shift to a regular weekly format in December 2018, following its initial debut as a series of specials earlier that same year.
Beyond its television success, the franchise has expanded into feature-length animation. The third film in the series, Eiga Oshiri Tantei: Star and Moon, arrived in Japanese theaters in March 2025. With these seven upcoming episodes, the show continues to build on its established history of episodic mysteries.
