Readers of Bungo Stray Dogs: STORM BRINGER will have to wait for the next chapter, as the series has officially entered a long-term hiatus. The announcement appeared in the October issue of Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace magazine, citing health concerns for artist Shiwasu Hoshikawa. Details regarding a return date have not yet been determined and will be shared in future issues of the magazine.
Launched by Hoshikawa in January 2025, the series serves as a manga adaptation of the eighth light novel in the expansive Bungo Stray Dogs franchise written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. The narrative picks up one year after Chuuya Nakahara’s induction into the Port Mafia, focusing on his confrontation with the assassin Paul Verlaine and the mysterious European detective Adam.
Despite the pause in serialization, Kadokawa is moving forward with the release of the series' second compiled volume, which is slated to arrive on September 25. The franchise itself remains a powerhouse in the industry, anchored by the long-running main manga series which began in 2012 and a highly successful five-season anime adaptation available on Crunchyroll.
