The popular romance webtoon Boss's Blatant Taste is moving into live-action development. The series, adapted from the web novel by author Sikeukeu, centers on the unlikely collision between a data-driven AI expert and an indie band vocalist. The plot follows Do-hyuk Kwon, a man who relies exclusively on logic, as his life is upended when he crosses paths with Eun-chae Lee while hunting for the identity of a mysterious woman on an album cover.
Casting discussions are currently focused on two industry veterans. Sung Hoon is in negotiations to portray the analytical Do-hyuk Kwon, which would signify his return to long-form romance drama after a three-year hiatus. Opposite him, Se-young Oh is currently considering the role of the free-spirited Eun-chae Lee.
While specific broadcast platforms and distribution windows remain under wraps, production is already moving forward with an eye toward a premiere later this year. This adaptation follows the previous release of Sikeukeu’s My Boss's Perfect Wedding, which was previously available on the now-defunct Pocket Comics platform. English-language readers currently lack an official version of Boss's Blatant Taste in either novel or webtoon format.
