English manga publisher BluPetal has announced a new exclusive distribution agreement with Animate International. Effective October 2026, BluPetal will serve as the sole agent and subdistributor for all English-language editions of titles published by Animate International in worldwide markets.

Under the new pact, BluPetal will manage sales, metadata, and retailer relationships for Animate International's catalog. The publisher confirmed that the titles will be distributed through Consortium Book Sales & Distribution. Animate International, a subsidiary of the Animate retail chain, primarily publishes boys' love (BL) manga. Among the initial titles BluPetal plans to release are Mask Danshi, Kabukicho Bad Trip, and Tashiro-kun, Why're You Like This?.

BluPetal, which launched last year, targets a female readership with a diverse range of genres including BL, shōjo, yuri, Jōsei, TL (teens' love), and gay comics. The company's staff comprises former employees from various prominent companies within the anime, manga, and tech industries, including Crunchyroll, Seven Seas, Viz, Kodansha, and Activision.
