The sports-romance manga Blue Summer Haze is approaching its conclusion. According to an announcement featured in the series' fourth compiled volume, which hit retail shelves this week, creator Dondon plans to wrap up the story in the fifth volume, slated for a winter 2027 release.
Launched in December 2023 within the pages of Kodansha's Honey Milk magazine, the series follows Makoto, a high school baseball star still clinging to a childhood promise made to his former teammate, Shuusuke. The narrative tension shifts significantly when Shuusuke unexpectedly transfers to Makoto's school, complicating both the team's dynamic and the personal relationship between the two leads.
Kodansha USA currently manages the English-language publication of the series. As the story heads toward its final chapter, readers can expect the concluding volume to resolve the long-standing tension between the former battery mates as they navigate the pressures of the baseball diamond and their evolving bond.
