The upcoming third season of the Blue Lock anime has been officially subtitled Neo Egoist League, with a new key visual accompanying the announcement. Revealed on 'Blue Lock Day' (June 9th), the new season will adapt the manga's 'Shin Eiyū Taisen' (New Hero Wars) story arc. Alongside the season title, updated character visuals for protagonists Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser were also unveiled.
The Blue Lock anime franchise has seen significant success since its debut. The first television anime season aired for 24 episodes in Fall 2022, followed by the second season, Blue Lock vs. U-20 JAPAN, which ran for 14 episodes in Fall 2024. Both seasons were streamed internationally by Crunchyroll.
Further expanding the franchise, the manga spinoff BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-, focusing on the character Seishirō Nagi, inspired a film that premiered in April 2024. The film performed well at the Japanese box office and received a North American release in June 2024. Crunchyroll also streams the film.
Fans can anticipate the Neo Egoist League season to continue the intense soccer battles. The original manga, by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura, launched in August 2018 and has garnered critical acclaim, including the Best Shōnen Manga award at the 2021 Kodansha Manga Awards.
