Arc System Works has officially announced that BlazBlue: CentralFiction is expanding to the PlayStation 5. This port focuses on modernizing the competitive experience, most notably by implementing rollback netcode and enabling cross-play with the PC version. The update also enhances accessibility by introducing four new text languages—French, Italian, German, and Spanish—alongside a suite of refined features for the game's Training Mode.

Despite the technical upgrades, the PS5 version will not feature the upcoming DLC character Trinity Glassfille. Arc System Works confirmed that Trinity, the first new fighter added to the roster since Jubei in 2017, will remain limited to the PlayStation 4 and PC versions. The PS5 launch is currently scheduled to follow the release of the "TRINITY -PHASE 3-" update.

Since its original 2015 arcade debut, the title has maintained a presence across multiple generations, including releases on PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. This announcement follows the recent console expansion of the broader franchise, which saw the roguelite BlazBlue Entropy Effect arrive on PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S earlier this year.

Why it matters: The exclusion of the new character from the PS5 port while prioritizing netcode improvements suggests a focus on competitive stability for the new platform, though it creates a split in content availability across the game's various versions. Does the addition of rollback netcode outweigh the loss of the new character for your preferred way to play?
