The upcoming second season of the Black Clover anime has unveiled its new opening theme in a fresh promotional video. The clip, which first screened at Anime Expo, showcases "Kienai Riyū" (The Reason that Won't Disappear), the latest track from the popular band WANIMA.
Directed by Ayataka Tanemura, who previously helmed later episodes of the first season and the recent film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, this new installment is being animated by Studio Pierrot, the same studio behind the initial run. The anime is slated to begin airing on TV Tokyo in October.
Black Clover originally premiered in October 2017 and concluded its initial broadcast with episode 170 in March 2021. The series has seen continuous seasonal runs since its debut. The franchise expanded with the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King film, which released globally on Netflix in June 2023.
Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the new season. The original manga by Yūki Tabata began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 and has since moved to Jump Giga magazine, with Viz Media and MANGA Plus handling its digital and print publication.
