The Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 brought a significant update for the upcoming Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou anime, confirming an April 2027 release window. Alongside the premiere date, the event debuted the first promotional video, providing a look at the aesthetic direction for this adaptation of En Mikami’s long-running mystery novels.

Production is firmly in the hands of CloverWorks, with Mamoru Kanbe leading the project as director. The studio has rounded out its core team with assistant director Kento Matsui, art director Masatoshi Kai, and sound director Tomohiko Yaginuma. The character designs are being handled by Jun Nakai, while Takahiro Obata is set to compose the score. New voice talent joining the project includes Reo Osanai, Wataru Takagi, Youhei Azakami, and Saeko Kamijou.

While the source material has been adapted into multiple manga series and a 2013 live-action drama, this marks the first time the story of the Kamakura bookstore will be told through animation. The project’s reliance on a veteran staff—including series composer Toshiya Oono—suggests a focus on the series' signature atmospheric mystery. With the production team now largely in place, the primary unknown remains the total episode count for this spring debut.
