The dark fantasy sequel Übel Blatt II: Knights of the Fallen King is set to reach its conclusion this autumn. According to the latest issue of Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan, the series will take a one-month hiatus before returning for its final chapter in the magazine's 11th issue, scheduled for release on October 23.
Launched in February 2024, the sequel follows the protagonist Köinzell one year after his conflict with Glenn. Now serving as Viceroy Ascheriit under Empress Elsaria, he finds himself navigating a new wave of rebellions orchestrated by the mysterious Knights of the Fallen King. The narrative has focused on the lingering shadows of the Seven Heroes and the ongoing political instability of the realm.
This conclusion marks the end of a significant chapter for creator Etorouji Shiono, whose original Übel Blatt series ran from 2004 to 2019. While the original manga spanned 23 volumes and inspired a television anime adaptation that premiered in January 2025, the sequel has provided a condensed, high-stakes expansion of the grim world.
