Bandai Namco Filmworks has initiated the "Sunrise 50th Anniversary" project, a two-year commemoration spanning 2026 to 2028. This initiative marks the studio's half-century milestone, beginning with its inaugural work, Muteki Chōjin Zambot 3, which debuted in 1977.

The project unveiled a new key visual, an illustration showcasing fifty iconic titles from Sunrise's extensive library, ranging from Muteki Chōjin Zambot 3 to the recent Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.

A central component of the anniversary celebration is the "Mirai e no Kōro" (A Voyage Towards the Future) short film project. This endeavor will produce six original 3DCG animated works in collaboration with various studios, all centered around the theme of "the future." The first two shorts introduced are Dice with Demon (also known as "Haseo Sugoroku") and Metafear.

Dice with Demon, directed by Hidekazu Ohara at SUNRISE Studios, is set in Heian-era Japan. The narrative follows Ki no Haseo, who confesses to playing a dangerous game with a demon to resurrect his deceased wife, posing the question of whether this act is a blessing or a path to ruin.
