The second season of the Azur Lane: Slow Ahead! anime, subtitled Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin! 2!, is set to premiere on July 5. The anime will air on BS11 and Tokyo MX in the early hours of July 6 JST.

Returning singer Yui Sakakibara will also perform one of the season's theme songs, titled "Shaisuma—!". The directorial reins for this new season have been taken up by Shunji Maki, who is working at studio CANDY BOX. Yū Satō is back to handle scriptwriting alongside Hotaru Asafuji, while Mori, who served as animation director for the first season, is now the character designer and chief animation director.

Fūga Hatori is composing the music for the series, with Masanori Tsuchiya returning as sound director. The first season of Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin! aired in January 2021, produced by Yostar Pictures and studio CANDY BOX with Masato Jinbo directing.

The Azur Lane franchise originated from a mobile game developed by Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi, where players collect warships from the early 20th century. The game has seen releases in China, Japan, and internationally, and has also inspired a main television anime series and an original video anime based on the Queen's Orders manga.
