The television anime adaptation of Ryon's Jirai nandesu ka? Chihara-san? (Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?) manga has been pushed back to a January 2027 premiere. The series will air in the "Super Animeism Turbo" programming block on MBS, TBS, and affiliated channels.
Several new voice actors have been added to the cast, including Maaya Uchida as Chihara's friend Chinatsu Iwakura, Tomokazu Sugita as Hibiya, and Daisuke Ono as Kazami. These additions join previously announced leads Sayumi Suzushiro as Mai Chihara and Kazuki Ura as Kuroki, both reprising their roles from previous voice comic adaptations.
In addition to the cast and staff updates, a tie-in music project for the lead character Mai Chihara is set to launch. Her first digital single, a cover of Nayutalien's "Alien Alien," will be released on July 25. Natsumi Sano designed Mai Chihara's musical artist costume for the project.
Synergy SP is handling animation for the series, with Yasuaki Fujii directing. Keiichirō Ōchi is overseeing series scripts, Majiro is on character design, and Arisa Okehazama is composing the music. The original manga, which won a "Next Impact Comic" award in 2024, follows high school junior Kuroki's encounter with the enigmatic Mai Chihara, rumored to be a "landmine girl" but who proves to be surprisingly sweet beneath her intimidating exterior. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English.
