Anime News Network has confirmed its third partnership with PacSet Tours, an organization founded by former ANN writer Evan Miller, to host a specialized travel experience in Japan. The 2027 tour is set to take place over November and December, marking a shift toward a seasonal rotation strategy for future excursions.

The upcoming trip offers a 7 to 14-day itinerary covering major hubs including Tokyo, Chichibu, Nagahama, Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe. Beyond standard sightseeing at locations like Hikone Castle and the Philosopher's Path, the organizers have curated exclusive industry access, including private studio tours and networking opportunities with professionals currently working in the Japanese anime industry.

This tour distinguishes itself by blending traditional cultural landmarks with specific anime-related sites, such as the Kanda Myojin Shrine—famously featured in Love Live!—and a Sumida River cruise on the Hotaluna, a vessel designed by the legendary manga artist Leiji Matsumoto. Participants will also engage in hands-on activities, such as a visit to the Nisshin Cup Noodle Museum.

Why it matters: By shifting to a seasonal model starting in 2027, the organizers are attempting to cater to varying traveler preferences for Japan's distinct climates, though it remains to be seen how this rotation will impact the specific content of future tour packages.
