Mikito Chinen, known for the Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective franchise, has launched a new manga titled Prometheus Taisen (Prometheus War) on Kadokawa's ComicWalker platform. Artist Kiyo Hasui is collaborating on the project.
The story is set in 2045, a decade after mysterious monsters called "insects" descended from the sky and attacked major global cities. Humanity's defense force, Prometheus: The Guardian of Peace, fights back. The narrative follows Jun Amamiya, an orphan who has merged with biocomputer cells to protect the planet.
This launch coincides with the upcoming conclusion of Chinen's other manga, Ameku Nakao no Suiri Karute - Sphere no Shitenshi (The Killer Angel Within: Ameku Takao's Detective Karte). That series, based on Chinen's Ameku Takao's Detective Karte light novels, will end with its third compiled volume on July 7. The Ameku M.D. light novels have achieved significant success, with over 3 million copies in circulation, and were previously adapted into a television anime that aired in January 2025, streamed by Crunchyroll, and a live-action series that premiered in April 2025.
Hasui, the artist for Prometheus War, also illustrated the manga adaptation of Jakuten Zero Kyūketsuki no Ryōchi Kaikaku.
