Always a Catch! has added Kana Hanazawa to its voice cast, taking on the role of Zaira, a new character introduced in the recent tenth episode. Zaira appears to harbor animosity towards the protagonist, Maria.
The anime adaptation of Mayo Momoyo's light novel series, which also has a manga adaptation published by Square Enix, premiered on April 1st. The story follows Maria, a duke's daughter more skilled in martial arts than courtly manners, who finds herself unexpectedly seeking marriage after her inheritance is threatened. Her quest for a husband takes a turn when the crown prince of a neighboring country nullifies their supposed engagement, only to become intrigued by her combat prowess.
The series features Yū Serizawa as Maria Annovazzi and Atsushi Tamaru as Renato di Rubini. Other cast members include Saori Hayami as Aida Amethis, Shūichirō Umeda as Placido di Rubini, and Natsuki Hanae as Ireneo. The anime is directed by Akira Oguro at TROYCA, with series scripts by Michiko Yokote and character designs by Isamu Suzuki.
The opening theme is "Chikai wa Kyun to" by HoneyWorks feat. Airi Suzuki, and the ending theme is "DEAD OR LOVE" by Yoshino. Always a Catch! airs weekly on Tokyo MX and BS 11.
