Following the conclusion of the previous manga adaptation, Akumi Agitogi's fantasy series The Emperor's Shaman is returning with a brand-new manga run. As announced in the 17th issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine, the upcoming series is titled Kyūtei no Majinaishi Kigan no Kisaki (The Emperor's Shaman The Demon-Eyed Consort). The project is set to debut on the The Hana to Yume+ web portal on August 10, with artist Yuru Sasara handling the illustrations.
This new iteration follows the original light novel series written by Agitogi, who is also known for the widely popular My Happy Marriage. The story centers on Shuka, an apprentice shaman marked by her striking white hair and red eyes—features that led to her being treated as an outcast. Her life takes a dramatic turn when the Emperor Hakuen recruits her for a high-stakes mission that requires her to infiltrate the inner court under the guise of a consort.
The franchise previously saw a manga adaptation by Takami Takada, which ran on Square Enix’s Gangan Online from 2021 to 2023, spanning five compiled volumes. While the previous version introduced global readers to the series via the Manga UP! Global service, this new project marks a shift in creative direction and publication home for the supernatural mystery series.
