Kadokawa has announced that the romantic drama manga Studio Cabana, created by Agri Uma, is set to be adapted into a television anime series in 2027. The project is currently in production at studio JUVENAGE.
Directing the series is Shin'ichirō Ushijima, known for his work on I want to eat your pancreas and UniteUp!. He is joined by series composition writer Sawako Hirabayashi and character designer Haruka Sagawa. Sayumi Suzushiro has been confirmed to voice the lead character, Yukari Maki, reprising the role she previously held for a 2022 promotional video. While the production team has released a character visual for the male lead, Yūsuke Kusaka, his voice actor remains unannounced.
The story follows the unlikely dynamic between the honest and persistent Yukari Maki and her delinquent classmate, Yūsuke Kusaka. Their relationship takes an unexpected turn when Yukari discovers Yūsuke’s secret passion for music, revealing a hidden side of him that contradicts his reputation at school.
Since its debut in Kadokawa’s pixiv Sylph magazine in 2021, the manga has grown to eight volumes, with the ninth volume scheduled for release this August. Yen Press has acquired the rights to the series and plans to begin English publication in winter 2027, aligning with the anime's debut.
