Actress Daveigh Chase, who lent her voice to the iconic character Chihiro in Studio Ghibli's 2001 film Spirited Away, has died at the age of 35. Her passing was reported by TMZ, citing her boyfriend Roy Hernandez.
According to reports, Chase succumbed to meningitis and a subsequent blood infection that led to septic issues. She was 35 years old at the time of her death.
Beyond her memorable role in Spirited Away, Chase also voiced Lilo Pelekai in Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise, appearing in the original film, subsequent movies, television series, and video games. Her other notable roles included playing Samara Morgan in the live-action horror film The Ring, Rhonda Volmer in the HBO series Big Love, and Joyce in the animated series Fillmore!.
