The intense baseball action of Ace of Diamond Act II Second Season is set to resume this fall, with producers confirming an October 11 premiere for the series' second cour. Alongside the date announcement, the production revealed a new key visual and the addition of Daisuke Sakuma to the voice cast, who will portray the Inashiro High School player Shinichiro Saotome.
Following its broadcast on TV Tokyo and AT-X, the series will continue its streaming run on Netflix in Japan. The current season, which began its run on April 5, marks a shift in production leadership with director Hideaki Ōba at the helm for studio OLM, while series composition remains in the hands of franchise veteran Kenji Konuta.
This ongoing adaptation continues the legacy of Yūji Terajima’s long-running manga, which concluded its 34-volume Act II run in 2022. While the anime franchise has seen multiple seasons since the original 2013 adaptation, the shift to OLM for this latest installment represents a notable change in the series' visual direction. With the second cour now on the horizon, it remains to be seen how the narrative will balance the introduction of new rivals like Saotome against the established roster of Seido High.
