The upcoming second season of A Wild Last Boss Appeared! has received a major update, with a new promotional video confirming an October premiere. The footage offers a first look at the returning fantasy world and debuts the season’s opening theme song, "Melodic Impact," performed by the rock band Suspended 4th.
Production remains largely in the hands of the first-season team, with director Yūya Horiuchi and screenwriter Kazuyuki Fudeyasu returning to lead the project at studio Wao World. While character designer Maiko Ebisawa is back, the team has expanded to include Akiko Satō and a collective of animation directors—Tōko Nakamura, Takashi Kobayashi, Shōta Ueno, Mamiko Mizutani, and Takahiro Miura—who will also contribute to character design duties.
The cast list is growing as well, with seven new additions joining the ensemble. The newcomers include Ryōta Suzuki as Karkinos, Chiaki Takahashi as Scorpius, Takahiro Sakurai as Castor, Shinpachi Tsuji as Mizar, Momoko Seto as Mass-Produced Libra, Yūichirō Umehara as Terra, and M.A.O as Luna. They join a returning cast headlined by Ami Koshimizu, who reprises her role as the powerful overlord Lufas Maphaahl.
Following the broadcast pattern of the previous season, the series will debut on Japanese television channels including Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and Kansai TV. Viewers looking to get an early start can catch the episodes one week before their linear broadcast via streaming services ABEMA and U-NEXT.
